About Sick Picnic Studios: Operating in Omaha, NE, Sick Picnic Studios is an independent animation, illustration, and sound studio committed to human-made storytelling. We believe the characters, movement, musical phrases, and soundscapes young children experience should arise from observation, craft, and care—never generated by artificial intelligence.

About Creator Matt Geiler: As the creator and creative director of Melodots, Matt Geiler brings years of experience across animation, illustration, original songwriting, and sound design. Leading the production of Season One, Matt combines artistic visual rhythm with custom acoustic composition—crafting a sensory world tailored specifically to an infant's developing eye and ear.
I created ​Melodots because I've always loved the quiet simplicity and warmth of playing, communicating, and just being with babies and toddlers.

That's the time when children are pure curiosity and pure vulnerability - entirely open and absorbing everything around them - which creates a profound responsibility for anyone entrusted with their attention.

So much of today's media aggressively lobbies for those little eyes and brains. I wanted to create a considerate alternative: something serene that engages through gentle music, color, and movement without overloading the experience.
​
Every design choice comes from that care - from the Melodots' large, curious eyes and their deliberate, organic movements, to the grounded baby-eye-level perspective of the environments.
​
Ultimately, I wanted to create something full of the same tenderness, presence, softness, and care you feel when you're holding a baby or lying on the floor playing together.
